Course Description

The objective of the OTHM Level 4 Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality Management qualification is to equip learners with the underpinning knowledge, understanding and skills required for a career or further study in the tourism and hospitality sector at a managerial level. The programme enables learners to demonstrate their skills by producing evidence from their work or training activities.

The units combine both theoretical and practical knowledge in the sector and will develop and enhance knowledge and skills in the areas of business environmnet and hospitality, services marketing n tourism and hospitality, sustainability in tourism and the development of the tourism industry.

Successful completion of this qualification will equip learners with industry-specific and practical skills, enabling them to successfully apply their knowledge in the workplace, enhance their career prospects and allow progression to further study.

Entry Requirements

These qualifications are designed for learners who are typically aged 18 and above.

The entry profile for learners is likely to include at least one of the following:

  • Relevant Level 3 Diploma qualification or equivalent qualification

  • GCE Advanced level in 2 subjects or equivalent qualification

  • Mature learners (over 21) with relevant management experience (learners must check with TTS Malta Admin Team regarding this experience prior to registering for the programme)

English requirements: If a learner is not from a majority English-speaking country, they must provide evidence of English language competency.

Assessment

Students who successfully complete their coursework and meet all the required learning outcomes will be awarded a Pass for each unit. All units are internally assessed by Training Three Sixty Malta and externally verified by OTHM. The qualification is criterion-referenced, meaning learners must demonstrate achievement of all specified outcomes and assessment criteria.

Generic Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the OTHM Level 4 / MQF Level 5 Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality Management (120 Credits/ 60 ECTS), learners will gain a solid foundation in tourism and hospitality principles, leadership, communication, and ethical practices. They will develop the knowledge and practical skills needed to manage care services effectively, support individuals with diverse needs, and ensure quality and compliance within the tuorism and hospitality settings. This qualification also prepares learners for further academic study or career advancement in the sector.

Certification

Upon successful completion of the full qualification, students will receive:

  • A certificate issued by Training Three Sixty Malta, acknowledging their achievement locally.

  • An official OTHM certificate, which includes a digital verification mark for authenticity and global recognition.

This OTHM certificate is regulated by Ofqual (Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation) in the UK, making it internationally recognised. Students can use it to pursue further education, enhance career opportunities, or meet professional development goals both in Malta and abroad.

Duration

The OTHM Level 4 / MQF Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care Management (120 Credits) is designed to be completed over 24 months of full-time study. However, it offers flexible delivery options to accommodate the needs of part-time students and those pursuing distance learning. The programme is delivered through a combination of face-to-face and online sessions, including lectures, tutorials, and interactive seminars, providing learners with a supportive and engaging learning environment that fits around their personal and professional commitments.
